FAQs
Can you help me with my partner’s marriage visa requirements?
Absolutely, I can provide you with a letter for the immigration office on my letterhead that states your intention to legally marry in Australia.
Do you do marriage rehearsals?
Rehearsals are a good idea and are only for people with significant roles. This allows the wedding party to feel confident about what will happen on the day and what is expected of them. Witnesses do not have to attend a rehearsal unless they are a part of your wedding party.
Can we get married anywhere we want?
You sure can! There are some beautiful gardens that allow you to use the grounds for free if you book and have a small number of guests. Others will charge a fee. Always check with the local council what the laws are in the state you wish to marry.
Can we change the date if something came up and we had to postpone our wedding?
When you sign a Notice of Intent to Marry it is valid for 18 months so if you need to change the date, ring your celebrant immediately so you can both agree on a new date that won’t clash.
Are there any hidden costs after you have quoted us?
Births, Deaths & Marraiges office no longer automatically sends out marriage certificates. If you wanted one sent to you, the cost will be added to your quote. The certificate will be sent directly to you, allow 20 working days.
